Dan is the Director of the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at Ashland University and Associate Dean. He is a Licensed Practicing Attorney and a Certified Public Accountant. He also teaches accounting, finance, and entrepreneurship courses for Ashland University.

 

Serendipity at its best: Dan Fox with Paul Kidd. Paul is the inventor of the New Balance Shoe and founder of that company. Dan met him by chance in a McDonalds in Hawaii.

 

Prior to joining Ashland University on a full time basis, Dan provided accounting, finance and training consultation to the world’s largest oil company, Saudi Aramco, in Saudi Arabia. During this time, he developed many international business relationships and a keen understanding of the Middle Eastern culture.

 

Dan also has extensive manufacturing and retail experience. He owned an electronics manufacturing company, called Electronix Group, Inc. (EGI). EGI assembled electronic circuit boards and its primary customer was Siemens Energy and Automation. Dan also worked for an electronics manufacturer as its controller and legal counsel.

 

His experience also includes accounting and legal experience with Coopers & Lybrand, where he served as a Tax Attorney. He also practiced business law with the medium sized law firm of Emens, Hurd, Kegler & Ritter in Columbus, Ohio. He has counseled many small and startup businesses and continues to do so in his capacity as a counselor for the Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) of Ohio at Ashland University.

 

Dan lives in Upper Sandusky, Ohio with his wife Judy and their three children.
