Tom Sudow, Executive Director, Beachwood Chamber of Commerce

Thomas (“Tom”) Sudow was appointed Executive Director of the Beachwood, Ohio, Chamber of Commerce in January 2002. In his role with the Chamber he also coordinates economic development efforts for the City of Beachwood. Tom recently completed a three-year term as chair of the Northern Ohio Area Chambers of Commerce (NOACC), an association of 123 chambers with more than 35,000 members.
An active community leader, Tom served as President of the Beachwood Chamber of Commerce and was Vice President of the Beachwood Transportation Management Organization. He serves on the board of several community organizations and has been president of the Cleveland Cavs Rebounders, the Cleveland Indians’ Wahoo Club, The Cleveland Section of the Conference of Jewish Communal Service and Park Synagogue Men’s Club. He was the founding Chairman of the Foundation for Jewish Life. He currently serves on a number of community boards.
Tom is founder of Sports Talk for Kids, a radio program on sports geared for children, and he hosted the weekly Sports Talk for Kids Radio Network, Baseball Tonight, The Cleveland Hockey Journal On Air, The Grand Prix of Cleveland Pre-Race Show, and the Cleveland Crunch Coaches Show.
He has worked with and for nonprofit organizations for nearly 30 years and has worked with start-up businesses in the software industry. He is frequently called upon to lecture and has taught a course in fund-raising management for seminars sponsored by Case Western Reserve University.
He is a frequent guest columnist in Crain’s Cleveland Business, Inside Business and the Cleveland Jewish News. He has been quoted in the media on business development issues for articles appearing in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Crain’s Cleveland Business, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Akron Jewish News and ideastream (WCPN/WVIZ).
Tom is listed in Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the Midwest, Who’s Who in Fund Raising, Who’s Who in Education, Who’s Who in Business and Finance and Who’s Who in Media and Communication.
He has won numerous awards including The Anthem Impact Award from the Ohio Business Hall of Fame, a Regional Center of Excellence Innovation award, two honorable mentions Northern Ohio Live magazine’s Awards of Achievement, Joseph M. Brown Man of the Year, The Centrite of the Year from Park Synagogue and the Ma’asim Tovim Award from the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs. He was also named a Sherman Fellow. In January 2006, The Sun Press named him the Most Influential Person in Beachwood for 2005.
